LaxoAloe, from Vitobest®, is an advanced formula based on the highest quality natural ingredients, which helps to reduce and improve occasional and chronic constipation.

Constipation.

Constipation is a very common problem today, affecting 10% of the population, and although the causes are multiple, sedentary lifestyle, a diet low in fiber and stress contribute greatly. Hydration is a very important factor, since, due to the reduction of intestinal mobility, stools tend to harden, complicating evacuation and the whole process in general. When constipation becomes chronic, external help is needed to evacuate, as otherwise it negatively affects the intestinal mucosa, digestive and general health, affecting the quality of life. A healthy life, along with a diet rich in fiber, are necessary to improve digestive balance and constipation.

The formula of LaxoAloe is composed of:

Dry extract of senna leaves.

Senna leaves have been used as a laxative and bowel evacuator for millennia. Its use as a laxative is approved by the FDA without a prescription and is often used to empty the bowel in colonoscopies.

  • Mechanism of action: senna decreases water reabsorption at the colon level and being rich in anthraquinones, it stimulates peristalsis1, thus reducing transit time, thus obtaining a combined laxative action.

Dry extract of fennel seed.

It is a plant well known for its medicinal properties. It is used as carminative, digestive and diuretic, to treat gastrointestinal problems2. It is rich in phenols and glyco-phenols, including quercetin and rosmarinic acid. Its digestive and antispasmodic properties, improve intestinal transit, contributing to better evacuation.

Dry extract of buckthorn bark.

It is commonly used as a laxative by folk medicine. The bark contains 3-7% anthraquinones, which act on the walls of the colon stimulating peristaltic movements4.

LaxoAloe

Aloe barbadensis.

Rich in anthraquinones (12 specifically) it has digestive properties and protects the intestinal mucosa5. It also has anti-inflammatory and regenerative properties, helping to recover the intestinal mucosa, which is always affected in chronic constipation.

Magnesium oxide.

Very important and acts in synergy with all the other principles of the formula.

  • Mechanism of action: magnesium is absorbed little and slowly, acting as a saline osmotic laxative. It attracts water towards the intestinal lumen providing the formation of soft stool mass. It stimulates the secretion of cholecystokinin (hormone secreted by the intestinal mucosa) stimulating intestinal motility and fluid secretion.
