L-Carnitine 2000, from Vitobest®, is a high-potency liquid supplement that, in addition to helping keep us hydrated, provides 2000 mg of L-Carnitine Carnipure™ tartrate per bottle (plays a very important role in energy metabolism).

Naturally present in our body, where it is synthesized from the amino acids lysine and methionine, L-Carnitine is an organic compound with the important function of binding to long-chain fatty acids and driving them into the mitochondria to carry out their metabolism. Its intake promotes the β-oxidation of fatty acids favoring the elimination of fat tissue¹.

Mainly present in the heart and muscle cells of our body, L-Carnitine also helps to decrease muscle lactate, to enhance the use of glucose, to increase the use of lipids as an energy substrate, to stabilize the cell membrane and to express certain genes related to lipid catabolism. Studies to date affirm that its supplementation during exercise decreases concentrations of free radicals, which could have a protective effect on blood vessels and muscle^2,3.
