Studies conducted with overweight individuals have shown that daily intake of 3.4 g of CLA results in a decrease in total fat mass without affecting other metabolic parameters, such as the erythrocyte count and the amount of lean mass1. The information obtained about the effect of CLA on weight reduction suggests that the fatty acid would affect the metabolic interconversion of fatty acids and would produce an activation of lipolysis2. Regarding green tea, some authors suggest that it has an effect on weight loss by increasing thermogenesis and fat oxidation3. They even claim that polyphenols derived from green tea have antioxidant properties4.
