Maca Andina 2500, from Vitobest®, is a nutritional supplement made from maca (Lepidium meyenii), a plant native to the Andes of Peru with proven benefits.
Consumed by the indigenous people since 2600 BC, its root is the most used part in traditional medicine: it is attributed with aphrodisiac, regulatory, immunostimulant, energizing, and antiarthritic properties1.
Scientific studies explain that this plant contains a significant amount of fatty acids (linolenic, palmitic and oleic); essential amino acids (leucine, arginine, phenylamine, lysine, glycine, alanine, valine, isoleucine, glutamic acid, serine, aspartic acid, histidine, threonine, tyrosine, methionine, hydroxyproline, proline, sarcosine); and minerals (calcium, iron, zinc, potassium)2.
Others consider that maca is a good dietary supplement that protects against oxidative stress3, has an adaptogenic effect4, is energizing and revitalizing, improves memory and anemia5, and helps to decrease osteoporosis6.
For the elaboration of its Maca Andina 2500, Vitobest® uses Macafull®, a dry extract of Lepidium meyenii standardized to 0.6% (macamides and macaenes), possibly the highest concentration on the market, with a 10:1 ratio equivalent to 2000 mg of the plant in powder.
Vitobest® uses for this supplement vegetable capsules (VegeCaps) suitable for vegan diets and free of titanium dioxide.
